The House Rules accident shown on prime time TV was scary for all those involved but may have been prevented with a better understanding of how to handle glass correctly.

It is accidents like that highlight the real dangers that can occur when glass is involved.

House Rules Accident.

The contestant Andrew was attempting to place a large sheet of glass in a skip bin when the glass pane shattered.

The wound to his wrist was approximately 5cm in length and there was fears he had sliced through an artery.

Death resulting from bleeding out from a major artery can occur within 10 to 15 minutes.

Andrew was rushed into surgery where the surgeon discovered he had cut through a tendon and partially cut a nerve.

Luckily Andrew got through the surgery ok and there will not be any permanent damage.
